Choose impartial responders who know your work well
Good choices include current or former colleagues, peers, professionals, bosses, direct reports, clients, customers, and anyone else who knows your abilities. The most valuable responses will come from people who have seen you in the workplace or know your skills from other settings.
If you choose people who will only say nice things about you, you will get no benefit from this investment. And anyone who reads it will recognize that it is not impartial.
Remember, no one expects you to have perfect skills in every area.
