Reopening a project allows you to resume the feedback collection phase after reports have been finalized or the project has been considered closed.
Reopening may be useful when additional feedback is needed or when late responders still need to submit their responses.
When to Reopen a Project
You may wish to reopen a project when:
- Additional responses are expected
- Important responder categories have insufficient participation
- A subject’s self-assessment is still missing
- Late responders requested additional time
- You want to improve response rates before finalizing results
Reopening a project gives responders another opportunity to complete their feedback.
What Happens When a Project is Reopened
After reopening a project:
- Additional reminder emails can be scheduled and sent
- Selected responders can submit their feedback
- Subjects can complete their self-assessment
- Response statistics and reports may change as new feedback is received
If reports were already generated or distributed, newly submitted feedback may affect report results.
Important Considerations
Reopening a project should be done carefully, particularly when confidentiality is important. Before reopening, it is recommended to consider:
- Whether subjects have already received their reports
- Whether newly added feedback could affect confidentiality
- Whether responders still intend to participate
- Whether extending the timeline will delay report delivery
If additional feedback is included after reports have been initially distributed, comparing different versions of a report may make it easier to identify newly added feedback or potentially infer the identity of the responder.
How to Reopen a Project
From a technical standpoint, reopening a subject is sufficient to allow additional feedback to be submitted.
- To reopen questionnaires, go to the People List page and use “Reopen Closed Questionnaires”
- You can reopen one subject at a time or reopen multiple subjects at once
- Once reopened, responders associated with those subjects will again be able to access and complete their questionnaires
Tips for Reopening a Project
- Reopen projects only when additional feedback is likely to add value
- Communicate updated deadlines clearly
- Send reminder emails shortly after reopening
- Review confidentiality requirements before distributing updated reports
- Consider whether updated reports should replace previously distributed versions
After Reopening a Project
After reopening, you can:
- Send additional reminders
- Monitor updated response progress
- Regenerate subject reports
- Generate updated group reports
- Export revised response data
